FCS II H4 Fin

I have just bought my second set of H4 fins to ensure I have them on both my bigger wave performance boards. I originally bought a set for my down the line 7'3" gun as the speed and power for late drop, large wave conditions is unparalleled.

I then switched them to my 6'6" mid to large wave rounded pin allrounder and found that turns and power through cutbacks and bottom turns was excellent.

So I had to keep the first set on that board and buy a new set for the gun!!

I dig Fcs fins

I finally gave a good run at these fins in a solid swell. I usually prefer large fins although I’m only 160/ 165 Lbs., so I bought the large set. The fins worked well on tight and punchy head-high waves on my squash tail. I’ve been riding Twin + 1 in smaller waves, so I felt some drag from the center fin at the beginning, but when I worked a bit for speed, they responded immediately. Just a tad hard to turn because the center fin has some depth. I recommend sticking to the fcs size chart on these (the medium probably would have served me better). Worth the money? Not sure yet.

These fins are fast! Let there be no doubt about that. I bought a large set and these are faster than the usual quad set I use (Rusty RPs) though they don't have the smooth tight arc feeling of the Rusty quads. It's a little more of a release and pivot feel but I haven't had too many good surfs on them yet. I'm using them in an HS Holy Grail. I also tried a small centre fin which didn't seem to make that much difference it felt marginally looser but I might be imagining it. Either way they deliver everything they promise - control at speed.

They were extremely responsive on both boards I used them on. I used them on a 5’11” JS Monstabox, and a 5’9” Lost Baby Buggy. I used them on waist to shoulder high waves and am looking forward to using them on bigger surf
