Carissa Moore has won her 27th World Championship Tour event, taking out the 2023 Margaret River Pro.

With this victory, Moore cemented herself as one of the Margaret River greats and ensured her name has been added to event honour roll for a record third time. Her previous wins in Western Australia came in 2013 and 2014 respectively.

Moore mowed through some fancied opposition on the way to taking the win; most notably her victory over former event champions Tyler Wright and Lakey Peterson and also local standout Bronte Macaulay.

“It was a crazy week and a crazy month being away from home, it’s a roller coaster,” Moore told the WSL. “Coming here, the doubts were starting to creep in. But, I really felt the love and the joy from this community and I want to say thank you because I couldn’t have done it without that good energy.”

Carissa chose to stick to her reliable Mick Fanning Tri Fin set over the entirety of the comp, which she paired with a T-3 Eco traction and a white All Round Essentials Leash.

Riss now sits in second position in the rankings coming into the Surf Ranch Pro.

Big congrats also go out to Gabriel Medina who took out the Men's event riding a set of extra large PC Performer Tri Fins.
